Premier Announcement COVID
Face masks
From 6 pm on Friday 4 March, face masks will no longer be required in most settings, including schools and workplaces.
Hospitality staff and patrons won’t be required to wear them at cafés, pubs or restaurants.
On public transport, and in hospitals, disability care, prisons, aged care, airports and planes, face masks will still need to be worn.
Excursions, assemblies, camps and visitors to schools
Schools will be allowed to conduct assemblies, excursions and school camps, while restrictions on parents and visitors to schools are also lifting.
Other restrictions to be relaxed
Restrictions at funerals will be lifted and there will no longer be a cap on the number of people permitted in homes.
Density limits will no longer apply in food courts, hairdressers, or at weddings, funerals, gyms, private venues and universities.
For further details will be available soon on the Queensland Government COVID-19 website.
Two’s day 22/02/2022
Palindrome Days happen when the day’s date can be read the same way backward and forward. The dates are similar to word palindromes in that they are symmetrical.
Hospitality Practices
Hospitality Practices is a new subject being offered to school based apprenticeship and traineeship students in Year 11. This semester, students are learning about Australia's coffee culture, beginning with an investigation into cafe style food. This week, students practiced their knife skills and prepared a salad wrap for tasting.

School To Work Project
In February 2022, CRU is offering a series of fully-subsidised, introductory webinars for families of secondary school students with a disability. These webinars are part of the School To Work project, which aims to inspire, increase the confidence of and motivate students with disability and their families to make a start on the road to meaningful, paid employment.
The webinars cover some foundational ideas, which are built on further in workshops and topic-specific webinars from March. The webinars have been developed with specific age secondary students in mind, however you are welcome to attend any of the webinars that interest you and your family member.
We ask that you register your attendance so that we can send you the details on how to join the webinar closer to the date. Once registered, the webinars will be available to view up to 7 days after the event, so that you can view at a time that suits you. Please register by following the links below:
