Down At The Ag Plot
What an egg-cellent collection from our Ag Plot!! Huge thanks to Woodlands Poultry Farm in Beerwah for donating Isa Brown Chickens to our Ag Plot and Darwalla Milling Group for donating feed for the chickens. Their donations are allowing our senior Agricultural Science class to investigate the production rate of eggs. Their mission is to create appropriate feed rations, analyse the production rate of the eggs laid by the chooks and assess the opportunity for sustainable practices. Bobby-Jo, Dayna and Harry this morning delivered the eggs to our Home Ec Department. The Year 9 class are also studying poultry this term. The students are investigating the anatomy of a chicken, egg production and health signs and symptoms of a healthy chicken. Later on in the term the Year 9 class will design and make a model of a chicken coop.
